This 3.5' X 7' floorcloth was designed as one of a coordinated pair to lie on either side of a kitchen island. The clients, who lean toward the geometric, were looking for a serene, crisp and classic design that focussed more on texture than on color. The central full diamonds are spattered (to hide dirt) with the same black and red found elsewhere in the floorcloth. The border and the half-diamonds were sponged to echo the beige/coral/black granite countertops. The kitchen has creamy yellow walls, and window treatments with checks and toile in neutral colors. The client specifically requested touches of black and red.
